This is an outstanding and scare, Longines wristwatch in solid 14kt yellow and white gold c. 1951 watch with diamonds on the dial as well as the hidden, fancy lugs/case. It also has a stunning two tone dial with a textured honeycomb ring which accents the inner flat finished detail. It is further accented with bezel set diamonds at the 12; 3; 9 o'clock and gold hour markers. The top of the case has a nice dome style crystal with a polished bezel, smooth polished sides and center T style lugs with bezel set diamond on each end, plus an engine second hand. The watch is triple signed Longines - on the inside of the back of the case it is signed Longines Watch Co Inc New York Geneve Montreal 14K no 94124. On the movement it is signed Longines Watch Co Swiss 17 Jewel cal 22L serial no 8495472 which dates the watch 1951. This is a stunning dress watch for the discriminating man and woman who likes a bold look, but would look just as smashing with jeans. I have a tremendous watch maker that can assist in restoration of your vintage wristwatches. He is also available to service/maintenance this and all of my watches in the future. I have another identical in white gold.
CONDITION: The condition is very, very good, with no dents, dings, or scratches. The watch is running, good keeping time and has recently been serviced, cleaned, polished, and detailed.
SIZE: The watch is full size, 40mm long x 31mm wide including the crown and 29mm not including the winding crown 8mm deep.
Andrea, your store is a wonderful treasure trove and your knowledge and class are of a scholarly collector.
I am a university research professor with an eye for detail. I have never seen any vendor with your level of exquisite scholarship. Just like your fine objets d'art, your descriptions are crafted with masterful finesse; it is such a pleasure reading them and it is also a great learning experience. Thanks again! Patrick
From the first time I watched a classic movie as a young girl, and watched Astaire and Rogers float across a dance floor I have loved art deco design, art, fashion and jewelry. So bold and beautiful, and so different from anything that came before it. Art deco changed social and design sensibilities forever. A lifetime collector of high quality antiques and vintage, I started by making contacts, researching and learning. Picking the best of the best, I live with art deco and vintage decor and used to wear the fashions of the day. To say that I feel in love is an understatement. I reveled in the fact that I was able to reflect my unique style and sensibilities with a marriage of old and new. What you see in my shop is my personal collection. Since I was in my teens I have bought what pleases me, what I find beautiful and unique, and the things that speak to me on a creative level. I hope that you can see and feel the passion and love that I feel for antiques and vintage pieces and share with you. You will find art deco, collectible and vintage fine art paintings, original illustrations and magazine covers, home decor, marble, alabaster and metal lamps, nude flapper table lamps, sterling silver decorative accents and tableware for the home and entertaining, designer and estate jewelry and fine vintage watches in my shop.
