Vintage 1980's couture, Trashy Lingerie L.A. California couture brocade and beaded 34D elegant and sexy bustier. Hollywood glam black bustier corset for formal events, red carpet, awards, fancy dinners and parties. I purchased this Trashy Lingerie couture black brocade elegant corset bustier in Los Angeles in the late 80's. Beautifully hand made and super sexy for formal events, red carpet events and special dinners out. Trashy Lingerie is a destination for film and music celebrities in Los Angeles like Cyndi Lauper, Madonna, Katy Perry, Stevie Nicks, and others (see below.) Its super sexy, witchy and badass - longer in the front the helps flatten tummy. It has a double eyelet back and while the alpha bust size doesn't change the back has 2 rows of eyelets to tighten or loosen with a beaded eyelet cover. I can't find photos now but I wore it once with tuxedo pants and another time with long flouncy see-through chiffon loose skirt - it was dynamite!! More great Vintage Clothes, Footwear and Handbags and some beautiful Mid Century Jewelry or Vintage Mexican Jewelry to go with them!
CONDITION: Excellent vintage with 7 plastic boning pieces
SIZE approx: Length from center décolletage to front bottom 13 inches, Overall width including beaded cover is 29 inches w/ 10 eyelets. Eyelet closure is 26 inches total then there are two normal bra like rows of 10 eyelets. Front with bra cups is 15 inches and the back is 8 inches long.
"By 1979, the store shifted to lingerie entirely and expanded to take over the whole block. The bright-pink store still commands attention as you walk by—as do the scantily clad mannequins. As demand grew for their one-of-a-kind bras and garter belts, Hollywood took notice. Playboy began pulling lingerie to use in their magazines; so did stylists for music videos. “Back then, there was still a [huge] music scene in Los Angeles,” Shrier says. “We first started doing stuff for Cyndi Lauper. But when Madonna hit the scene, we started doing beaded lace corsets and bras; Madonna was so big, that it was like a new cottage industry for us. Everybody wanted to be like Madonna.”
Over the years, Trashy Lingerie has dressed stars like Katy Perry, Stevie Nicks, Ariana Grande, and even Claudia Schiffer for her famous Guess ads (back then, Guess was selling more of a lifestyle than their own products, Shrier says.) Right now, they employ six sewers in-house, as well as two hand-sewers, one dyer, and two full-time designers. They sell a mix of ready-to-wear and custom lingerie. Customers can come in, get fitted with one of their preexisting patterns, then customize the fabrics and colors. Or, they can buy premade pieces, like marabou-trimmed robes or chain mail bras." Andrea, your store is a wonderful treasure trove and your knowledge and class are of a scholarly collector.
I am a university research professor with an eye for detail. I have never seen any vendor with your level of exquisite scholarship. Just like your fine objets d'art, your descriptions are crafted with masterful finesse; it is such a pleasure reading them and it is also a great learning experience. Thanks again! Patrick

Downsizing was inevitable and I've done it several times already. This is the big one, and I am still unboxing treasures retrieved from storage after decades.
All pieces are one of a kind handpicked by yours truly over 40 years to add texture, style and story to your authentic style.
My collecting story starts after watching Astaire and Rogers float across a dance floor as a young girl, I have loved art deco design, art, fashion and jewelry. So bold and beautiful, and so different from anything that came before it. Art deco changed social and design sensibilities forever. A lifetime collector of high quality antiques and vintage, I started by making contacts, researching and learning. Picking the best of the best, I live with art deco and vintage decor and used to wear the fashions of the day. To say that I feel in love is an understatement. I reveled in the fact that I was able to reflect my unique style and sensibilities with a marriage of old and new.
Since I was in my teens I have bought what pleases me, what I find beautiful and unique, and the things that speak to me on a creative level. I hope that you can see and feel the passion and love that I feel for antiques and vintage pieces and share with you. You will find art deco, collectible and vintage fine art paintings, original illustrations and magazine covers, home decor, marble, alabaster and metal lamps, nude flapper table lamps, sterling silver decorative accents and tableware for the home and entertaining, designer and estate jewelry and fine vintage watches in my shop.
