This is an absolutely outta this world, genuine, super sexy tight, form fitting black 1980's catsuit or bodysuit by couture designer MIA. So hard to describe, but it's incredibly well made, has those great wide shoulders, synched like a corset from the breast bra area through the waist for a great tight, girdle like fit that goes over the hips. The back is loose empire line, for more detail and a comfortable fit and also has a bit of a dolman sleeve that also gives added comfort across the front which is still snug. Polyester and Lycra blend. I wore this a only a few times and people still talk about it LoL. Can't find anyone that fits into it and its been a long time since I did sadly!! I wore it with these boots https://deco-daze.com/Vintage-Black-Suede-Brass-Studded-Boots-9-1-2-Western-Boot-p56721029 - which is the last photo! More great Vintage Clothes, Footwear and Handbags and some beautiful Mid Century Jewelry or Vintage Mexican Jewelry to go with them!
CONDITION: Excellent vintage w/o damage, repairs or excessive wear. The stirrup strap is a little worn. I am not an expert on vintage clothes or fabrics. Everything listed I bought for myself because I loved it and describing to the best of my ability based on research.
SIZES APPROX: Sized as a 9 US/CAD My measurements are across the front with the dress hanging to widest wearable measurement. I am 5'9" for reference since I couldn't find a model
Shoulder to shoulder (there are no shoulder seams size to edge of shoulder pads) 18 1/2 inches
Underarm to Underarm: 17 1/2
Waist: 12 inches (banded like a corset for tight fit)
Hip: 16 inches (more relaxed through legs)
Inseam: To cuff 25 inches, with stirrup 19 inches
Overall length: 56 inches
PLEASE NOTE: Bust waist hip measurements are the maximum body measurements that will fit the item and will be form fitting. Can't go up in size but if you're somewhat smaller garments would have a comfortable fit. Hope this makes sense. Vintage label sizes will generally differ from modern sizing.
Andrea, your store is a wonderful treasure trove and your knowledge and class are of a scholarly collector.
I am a university research professor with an eye for detail. I have never seen any vendor with your level of exquisite scholarship. Just like your fine objets d'art, your descriptions are crafted with masterful finesse; it is such a pleasure reading them and it is also a great learning experience. Thanks again! Patrick

Downsizing was inevitable and I've done it several times already. This is the big one, and I am still unboxing treasures retrieved from storage after decades.
All pieces are one of a kind handpicked by yours truly over 40 years to add texture, style and story to your authentic style.
My collecting story starts after watching Astaire and Rogers float across a dance floor as a young girl, I have loved art deco design, art, fashion and jewelry. So bold and beautiful, and so different from anything that came before it. Art deco changed social and design sensibilities forever. A lifetime collector of high quality antiques and vintage, I started by making contacts, researching and learning. Picking the best of the best, I live with art deco and vintage decor and used to wear the fashions of the day. To say that I feel in love is an understatement. I reveled in the fact that I was able to reflect my unique style and sensibilities with a marriage of old and new.
Since I was in my teens I have bought what pleases me, what I find beautiful and unique, and the things that speak to me on a creative level. I hope that you can see and feel the passion and love that I feel for antiques and vintage pieces and share with you. You will find art deco, collectible and vintage fine art paintings, original illustrations and magazine covers, home decor, marble, alabaster and metal lamps, nude flapper table lamps, sterling silver decorative accents and tableware for the home and entertaining, designer and estate jewelry and fine vintage watches in my shop.
